Meeting Minutes: February 16, 2016
The Arkansas Corvair Club met at our regular meeting place, US Pizza on McCain Park Drive, NLR, on Tuesday, February 16. This was our first meeting since October and we were pleased to have 27 in attendance.
We were glad to welcome new members, Tim Newton from Sherwood and Steve and Pat Dietrick from Bull Shoals.
The meeting was called to order by president, Keith LaCrosse. The minutes from our October meeting were approved as read.
Elvis King gave a financial report. We currently have $5,104.65 in our treasury.
Keith reminded members that the CORSA Convention will be held July 12-16 in Springfield, IL and hosted by the Prairie Capital Corvair Association. The host hotel, the Crowne Plaza, has already sold out. Alternatives are listed on the website and will appear also in the March 2016 CORSA communique. ACC always has a good representation at this event and lots of fun. The drive is not too far, so get your reservations made.
The Great Plains Roundup will be held September 23-25 in Tulsa, OK and hosted by the Green Country Corvair Group. The host hotel is the John Q. Hammons Renaissance Hotel. Having hosted this event in North Little Rock in October 2015, ACC members can appreciate the time and effort that goes into planning and hosting, so plan to go to Tulsa.
Jerry Pentzer said that he and Donna will have their annual anniversary party/open house on Saturday, April 2 at their home in Ozark. The theme this year will be a Corvair carnival featuring a carousel ride. Jerry challenged the Corvair members to outnumber the Corvettes this year at the event.
Tom Brown suggested that ACC members consider the train ride from Fort Smith to Winslow on May 21.
Nominations for new officers will be made at the March meeting and voted on at the April meeting.
