Meeting Minutes: July 18, 2017
The Arkansas Corvair Club met at our regular meeting place, US Pizza on McCain Park Drive, NLR, on Tuesday, July 18th, with 24 members in attendance.
The meeting was called to order by president, Tom Brown. The minutes from the June meeting were approved as read.
Elvis King gave the treasurer’s report. We have $4,533.23 in our treasury.
Tom Brown reported that he will be attending a board meeting Saturday at the Petit Jean Car Museum. He will make further plans for our club to visit the museum in the fall, probably October. A continued discussion was held on our newsletter being distributed to members via email versus having them printed each month and mailing them USPS. We will make a decision at our September meeting and vote on it at the October meeting.
Ryan MacLeod said that his fiancé, Laura Wagoner, has volunteered to improve the ACC website and make it more user friendly. Ryan brought his laptop and gave us a brief synopsis on some of the changes they are working on.
Elvis King was asked to report on a side trip he, Keith, and Tom made into Kansas City during the recent convention. They went to Harry J. Epstine's, a historic hardware/tool store in downtown Kansas City. It is a hardware/tool store, featuring American-made products, run by members of the fourth generation of the founder, and located in the same building since 1933. After that they visited a private museum that had a bunch of finely-restored Studebakers from the '30s and '40s, among other high-dollar examples of the era. They also were given a tour of the restoration shop of the museum.
